This problem happened on my sencond screen now. HP replaced a new one for me several months ago, due to randomly only 2 bright horizontal lines on screen while power on or restart form hibernate, the funny story is that the HP technician claimed that there was a short metal pin accidentally left in the laptop. But now this wired problem come to me again, I wonded whether the metal pin comes back to my laptop itself, or the techincian put it back intentionally?
Anyone got same problems?

HP replaced a new LCD for me again( third LCD till now), they can't find any hardware problems though.
If that is the third time that you have had these issues with I would contact HP back again and escalate that issue to a supervisor or manager directly and request a replacement instead of their fixing it.

I have the same problem. It's a known issue with this particular ati graphic card. HP told me they would replace my tx2 but I don't have time to give away the laptop for so long. You can help yourself by heating up the graphic card (eg by puting on a video) and then switching from "Disconnect Projector" to "Duplicate" by Pressing Win-Button and P.
Their replacements/repairs lately have been very swift, one week or less turn around time. I would say just go ahead and take it if they will offer it.

The problem is from electrostatic field in the screen panel.
The solution is to carefully open the screen panel and add some isolating tapes on the left (short side) part of back of the screen, there are three connector type flexible tapes. Just fix them with back of the screen with self adhesive isolating tape. Enjoy

i have the same problem, and i realy don´t understand how to resolve it. As i read there is many owners of tx2 with this problem. I try to repair by my self, but when the screen is totaly opened, i don´t find nothing wrong.
can you explain beter how to repair the problem, can you make something like a tutorial whit some pictures............ sorry for my Englis, i´m from spain
Thanks, gracias
Yes, You will not recognize anything wrong there. Just you have to isolate (with an isolation tape) the flexible tape-like connection from the screen. The problem is coming that from, the electrostatic field of the flexible tape-like cable makes the screen working not normal.
1. you open the screen panel
2. from backside you'll see the electric multi-line flexible tapes
3. Find the one that is from left-side (it is short and as if it is left like that, it's not connected, the edge is free)
4. In between of this tape and screen stick a isolating tape to the back of the screen.
5. close the screen and test

Excuseme for my englis... i´m from spain.
hapy new year ........... from spain.
my problem is still there, can some body help me?
is posible the problem is at ati graphic card?
if i change it, will resolve the problem??
Well, to help somebody how can have the same problem, i finally resolve it.
The problem is in one chip that is install in the monitor.
I opened the monitor, and in the back there is a plastic whit a label where you can read in red color, don´t remuve this plastic.
Under the plastic there is a card where is conecting the video bus.
Whel, i remuve the protectic plastic, and there is a silver area in this plastic. On the right of the silver area, there is a small chip, that cause the problem.
I put diferents contact of this chip, to a ground reference that is on the card, on the righ of the chip, whitout power. and the problem disapear.
The problem, maibe, is a electrostatic.
Bye from spain.
