Just got my unit back from repair and they replaced the motherboard to resolve the problem as I requested.
An interesting thing is that the Bios on the board is not the F.21 that is the current bios for the tx2 series, it is a F.25 version.
I have not been able to find anything noticably different with this bios at least so far as options within it go. Video memory allocation appears to be the same still, same functionality of all devices.
Would be interesting to see what changes they made with this. I will do testing this weekend and see how it performs with thermal management and voltage to see if anything changed with that. Going to have to strip the unit apart again though and put my IC7 diamond paste back on, bah. And HP disabled access to the guide to take the unit apart.
If anyone else hears about this bios let me know.

Bios F.25 is available for download now. Softpaq Number is 46499. The .cva states:
[US.Enhancements] - Activates the hard drive security freeze lock feature during the Power-On Self-Test (POST), which helps to prevent malware or third-party software from locking the hard drive without authorization after POST.
[Private_Fixes] - Resolves an issue where the cursor moves unexpectly (without the user moving it) when the notebook/laptop is idle. - Resolves an issue where the Wireless button does not work when the notebook/laptop is in Tablet mode.
Maybe this update is the answer for the "ghost-clicks".
yes it's a great bios, the perfect Christmas gift from HP:

So I flashed the new BIOS, went to tablet mode, and voila! My wireless switch is now fully functional regardless of the screen orientation. Thank you very much for the heads up! Very good job, HP!

Yes, quite a nice gift from HP. Maybe they are reading these forums cause they originally listed the wireless switch disabled as a feature. No more ghost clicks.... yay! So maybe that wasn't N-trigs fault.

Great information. Even though I did not have this problem I upgraded anyways. Thanks HP!

just because F.21 is the BIOS revision that came with your tx2 doesn't mean it's the most current version. the F.25 revision has been on the HP product support page for the TX2 since November.
Definitely was not at the time. I went and checked myself right after this post, it appeared about 2 days later regardless of when the website says it went up.
The date posted on the support page maybe 11-2009, but like Prototype, I checked on that page as well when this thread was posted and F.25 wasn't there yet.

Did someone notice that since the BIOS update my screen brightness isn't adjustable anymore?
The backlight brightness bars in Power Options > Balanced and Power Options are gone. Even in de Mobility Center. The screen stays in medium brightness with and without the power adapter.
- Wifi-Switch while in Tablet Mode works like a charm now.
- Noticed that the fans where more sensitive with the temp of the notebook (rpm's go up much earlier and where blowing all the time).
Fixed that in BIOS "fans always on - enabled" changed that to disabled. Fans still work. But they go off when I check "Power Saver" in Power Options while using the notebook on battery. Or when it's idling.
So my only problem is the non-adjustable brightness of the screen atm. Trying to fix it with new graphics drivers... You never know...

Remember that F.25 doesnt cut keyboard and mousepad power when on tablet mode.
Just do this test...
Put on tablet mode, and open the latch just a little to reach mousepad...
on F21, keyboard and mouse power are cut off during tablet mode.
on F25, keyboard and mouse power arent cut off during tablet mode.
So, battery drain should be a little higher on F25

Hmm, that is weird. My screen brightness is still adjustable after the BIOS update. It still changes brightness depending on my power plan, and the adjustment options still shows up both in power options and in the mobility center. What happens when you try to adjust the brightness thru the keyboard? (FN + f7/f8)
Merry Christmas everyone. ^^

Forgot to include that info. The Function buttons don't work either. Screen stays at medium brightness.
Tried reinstalling latest videodrivers. No cure...
Checked my other drivers. Everything is installed fine. Really weird. The brightness is on the average setting so it doesn't really bug me. I can work with it.
What is bugging me, is that I can't change it. xD

I've had intermittent problems with the screen brightness getting stuck when the F.21 and perhaps even the version before that was on here, but nothing a reboot didn't fix. I've noticed that when it happens, the function keys go first, but the bezel button brings up Windows Mobility Center (WMC), which allows me to change it. Then at some point, the Display Brightness box disappears from WMC so than I have to reboot. Not sure what it could be.

Well, I did trihy's test and after upgrading to F.25, my keyboard and touchpad remain off when in tablet mode as it was in F.21. Sorry, trihy.
I have a tx2-1275dx with Win7 Ultimate x64.
By the way, it sure is nice to find information from you all here. The HP download site for the BIOS upgrade didn't even list the changes (probably wouldn't have bothered with it otherwise).

Yeah I'd like to keep the tablet mode wifi switch. xD I don't think a system restore could fix this. Everything works flawlessly. But I'm gonna try it anyways. Never hurts to try.
Update:
Couldn't do a System Restore, noticed that it was shut off. Reinstalling Windows now. Had a Mac OSX bootloader bugging me before every Windows boot anyways.

Just installed the F.21 update and thought I'd share the results. My wifi button does work in tablet mode, my screen brightness works and my keyboard and Touchpad doesn't work in tablet mode. All in all, In a happy man.
