Seems like your unit IS defective.
No other solution than sent it back to HP.
You can setup your office again when your computer is returned. If You have any trouble activating your office license you should do an activation by telephone and explain to microsoft your computer is brought in for repair and has returnede. You should then get a new activation key.
If it is possible to sent your computer back without the harddrive you can do that, and reinstall the harddrive upon return.
Hi. I'm new here, and currently my TouchSmart is currently dead. The HP logo flashes by, but I get a black screen. I tried calling HP, and they told me to:
- Unplug it
- Hold power button in to discharge
- Plug back in
- Turn on
Problem is, it happened the very first time I turned it on. And then it would work fine all day (including turning it off), and then, when I got ready to go to bed, I would turn it off for the night. The next morning, the same thing would happen. Call them back, told to do same thing. Works that way for two more days, then fails to start. Period. Bought it at Office Depot, and they won't take it back. Now I know why they discontinued this model. What do I do? It has all my data on it (including the new fresh copy of Office I installed and activated), what do I do? Please help. I will be calling HP this week to complain and hopefully they will replace it with an identically-configured 600xt. Any insight? They told me it gets worse each time you turn it on. And now ir won't get past the HP logo.
That, and the packaging is crap. I can't even get it back in the box correctly. :(
Luckily, I have a backup of everything I copied over.,
