Hi,

I recently decided to call HP to complain about the amount of heat that was coming out of my Tx2z.

Under some average usage (DVD burning, websurfing, listening to music, watching vids), my CPU would reach 95 degrees. It has even given me the blue-screen-of-death about 5 times due to the CPU getting too hot. This was also while utilising the devolting software.

So HP agreed that 95 degree CPU temps were also not acceptable and took it off my hands to get it fixed, upon returning it to me, I asked what work was done to my tablet, they said that they replaced the heatsink and that it should fix the issue.

Just gotten my Tx2z back now and did a stress test using Everest, at 100% CPU usage, the CPU just pushes 90 degrees and my keyboard gets noticably hot, and the air vent is basically untouchable. Average temp is around 65~70 degrees while doing some music/vid watching.

Is this acceptable and what temp results do others get?

I've had it for about 6 months now but find myself not using it as much as I'd like due to the heat it produces.

 Thanks

Average temps on mine is about the same, unfortunately. That is plugged-in, with a single-fan cooling pad, running on HP recommended power plan, and doing Facebook with occasional flash games. It used to average at around 50-55, but for some reason it is heating up more now.

mine stays right at about 60 under non load and 80 to load. but this is also using high preformance mode (fan always on) and on a bx dock 3000.
