You would be able to do clean install as you prefer. You should be able to find all TouchSmart software under the support site of your system.
Just go to http://support.hp.com (or http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/siteHome?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us) and search your model; you should be able to find all drivers and softwares listed there for Win 7.

my 826 arrives soon and I want to update it to windows 7.
Normally I wipe everything clean do a fresh install of windows 7. However since the hp programs and software seem to have a lot of touch features built in, is this the best way to go about it?
If someone can give me pros and cons.
I know win 7 has touch built in but the interface hp has now with vista seems to have a lower learning curve. The pc is for my wife so I want her to have an easy experience and save me from various "tech support" questions or problems she will come to me with :)
