Just bought a new TouchSmart IQ846 from Costco - awesome deal at $999.98. Got so excited, but even right out of the box the touch screen didn't work. Tried to recalibrate, nothing. Hubby called HP and had him change everything back to factory installed settings, still nothing.

Guess it's a hardware issue? So now we have to send it back to HP. Less than 2 weeks old... is this a bad sign?

Does anyone know how long HP will have the unit? Hubby forgot to ask them.

Any reason you're not using Costco's customer service? There's no reason they won't exchange this unless it was an item they no longer have stock on.

Yes, because it's a discontinued unit - they have no more stock. Box wasn't tampered with or opened, so I guess we got a lemon?

ahh No stock would rule out an exchange, wasn't sure there.
I've found that HP usually has a turn around of about 3 days in their possession on warranty repairs. (add shipping, each direction, etc)

Thanks Diane, hopefully you're right. I'm in Canada so I'm not sure if that will make a difference - hopefully not.
