Well, wouldn't you know it.  Just when things get all settled in and happy and I coup over all my media files and pictures as well as set up my Media Connector, I come home from work today and I am greeted by a message that says windows was unable to load my user profile.  Clicking on my icon only generated a log off and a repeat of the message and restarting resulted in the same problem.  UGH! I think to myself....

Did a hard reboot (held power button in to shut down) and was greeted by the unsafe shutdown message but "last known good configuration" was not a choice.  Not good.  Chose safe mode and tried to modify my user account but no joy there and could not create another account.

Went to Accessories then system tools and chose to do a system restore.  Looks like a windows update automatically installed itself at 3am (KB957000) and the system rebooted.  I'm guessing that it was the problem.  The irony was that it was an "update to improve the user experience".  Yep, improved mine alright.  Anyway, the system restore worked and I am back in action again getting "in touch" with my new toy.
