Does anyone have any idea when HP plans to upgrade the processors on the 600XT series?
We really want a Touchsmart for the kitchen, but after demo'ing one for a few hours (the model with T9600), it became clear that the touch technology requires a WAY FASTER processor. I'm assuming the new iCore processors from Intel would boost performance.
Any info is greatly appreciated.

Does anyone have an answer for this question? I am running an HP TouchSmart (do not remember which type, IQ8 something I believe? I purchased a video game called Arma2 Combined Operations, and thought my computer would be able to handle it. I failed at reading the label, where it states the following:
Video Card
Minimum: NVIDIA GeForce 8600GT or ATI Radeon HD 3650 or faster with Shader Model 3 and 512 MB VRAM
FAILED You Have: Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family
Features: Minimum attributes of your Video Card
Required You Have
Video RAM 512 MB 359.0 MB
Hardware T&L Yes Yes
Pixel Shader version 3.0 4.0
Vertex Shader version 3.0 4.0
my question is can I purchase a better video/graphics card for a TouchSmart computer?

The concensus has been that without spending a decent amount of money for the small format card, it's just not worth it.
In general that's what the threads on this subject have all said, you might get better info from those threads in Desktop / Hardware as opposed to this one on CPU swaps
