This is the Windows 7 - January 2010 release. It supports both the Synaptics touchpad and the n-trig touch panel via a 'toggle switch' in SoftStylus interface.
I haven't downloaded the one posted on the website but the version pre-installed on mine already has that toggle switch "Click this button to use SoftStylus in Touch Screen Mode". Control Panel says its v. 2.2.3.

the cva of the latest version says:
"Improves hand-writing responsiveness when the software is used under Windows 7"
Well, it seems like a useful programme, but there seems to be no gesture for the space bar. And the word list doesn't appear to work, when you choose a word from the list, it just scrolls up to the top and doesn't appear to register any other touch. So, it's great if you just want to spell one word, but seems pretty useless otherwise. Or am I getting it wrong?
It's a shame too, as it seems like a really handy tool, for quick short messages. Though I am getting quite goods with Windows seven dictation tool. Yes, it does make some really stupid mistakes, but if I spell into notepad then cut n paste, it seems to work pretty well.

But SoftStylus might prove useful when writing Chinese letters. It works fine here. See http://www.store.motorola.com/mot-static/promotions/stylus/pop.htm
