In my case, I had several problems after BIOS F.25 using N-Trig v.184 on Windows 7 64bit. Ghost clicks  came back and touch was horrible when I used it on battery. I tried return to F.21, but it didn't work properly. So, I came back to Windows Vista 64bit. Until now, touch is OK. However, for those who are with Windows 7 32bit version, good luck! I hope this driver works nicely.

Zor.. Thank you very much for sharing this information.

2.184... so they released the old buggy ones just for x86

January 29, 2010 2:24 AM

They didn't release anything for x86 by now except for an .html and .cva. The .exe isn't up on the ftp server. So the link provided by zor is inactive for now.

Hmm, when I found this file on ftp server, it was available. However, .exe was really removed. What is going on? Will HP release new drivers?

If it really was then it was just for a few hours. I'll be patient one day more or less, who cares? Already waiting 3 months.

January 30, 2010 7:35 AM

There it is. Your link to the file in the first post is working now.

January 30, 2010 12:56 PM

What about the driver? Is it working properly? I'm thinking to try it.

sounds like this only supports 2 fingers...
and furthermore, it seems that N-trig is no longer provide Auto Mode...

January 31, 2010 9:41 AM

I am a little anxious to see as well

February 3, 2010 12:53 AM

I had some issues with driver 2.184 and after talking with N-trig, i learned that a new driver for 4 Finger will be posted within the next 2 weeks. Driver number should be 2.239 and will support Win7 x32 and x64.

February 3, 2010 7:46 AM

Nice to hear that, but I think that 2 weeks for ntrig, means 4 months for the rest of the world

I am using this right now, and so far, there's no ghost clicks and jumping cursors like I had with 2.59. I uninstalled Ntrig duo sense first from control panel before I installed 2.184.

For how many days you're using version 2.184 now?

Its been a day now. For my experience with 2.59, I immediately had the ghost clicks right after rebooting. For the longest time I was using a certain 2.153 I got from upgrading and not doing a clean install to windows 7. It didn't have any ghost clicks, but it got messed up yesterday  when I had to reinstall Norton. I wasn't able to backup that 2.153 so I went ahead and tried 2.59 (being scared of 2.184). After immediately experiencing ghost *****, I uninstalled it and tried this new 2.184, and so far, no problems. I'll be glad to post updates in case it acts up. ^^

Well maybe then I'll give a try to version 2.184. I don't care whether I get two or four touchpoints. Besides playing around with MS Touchpack there is no need for four touchpoints right now and Touchpack becomes pretty boring with time. Thanks for your answer zirdaj.

Theb ghost clicks may be a pen issue...I had the same problem...got a new pen and the 4 point N-trig driver software works perfectly.

I'm glad to say that I haven't gotten any problems yet with 2.184, day 2. :)

Chasad, I am happy to hear that you are not having any issues with 2.59, but I am certain that my pen doesn't have problems, as I have been using it extensively since I got my notebook and I never had the ghost click problem until I installed 2.59. Must be my bad luck. :p

EDIT: and I spoke to soon, lol. Just realized that my touchscreen stopped working. No error on device manager. I didn't get any "usb not recognized" error as well. Computer says I got pen input and 2 touch points which is normal. Tried resetting/touch tuning but touch still not working. Even the stylus isn't working.

It was resolved after the reboot. I hope it is just a random bug and won't be as persistent as the other known issues with the other driver.

Thats a common problem, you can just fix it with going into stand by mode.

February 6, 2010 11:18 PM

I just had the jumping ghost clicks now. :(

It wasn't like what I've experienced with 2.59 though. With 2.59, the mouse would jump and click to a random space every couple of minutes. With what just happened now with 2.184, the cursor started jumping and clicking continuously at a fast pace, I couldn't even control it quick enough to close my browser. I put my notebook to sleep by sliding the power button, and after I wake it up, things are back to normal.

yep, going to sleep mode, solves the "continuos click".

But, it get worse after time, and now, I have to go to sleep almost everytime I turn on the computer to make the touchscreen works right.
