Every time I type on my touch smart it does not work. Is there a button I need to press?

Need a little more specifics to help you out here Ksmil. First off, this is the Tx2 Touchsmart notebook we are talking about correct?

Second, is the keyboard not functioning at all at any time, or just within a certain application or?

Please let us know more so we can assist you in resolving this issue.

I've heard that if the keyboard isn't working at all, you should unplug your battery and power cord and hold the power button on for about 3 minutes. this drains the power i guess and kind of resets things. i haven't had to do it but i heard it works.

That is a Bios reset. Unplug battery, and AC power and hold the power button for about 30 seconds.
