Jollywombat has inspired me to contribute more to the community than I ever would have by his Touchsmart 3.0 project. So I want to help out other poor souls having stylus issues...
Anyone who has ruled out driver and installation issues with the N-Trig software, try getting a new pen. I almost did a clean install of Windows 7 and it was a pen issue. HP tech support didn't catch the problem the first time I called them...I thank God the second time I called someone was savvy enough to recommend me getting a new pen.
What was odd to me was that my old pen "looks" perfect...I would have never thought that was the culprit. I guess I need to learn more about the technology behind the pen. Now the N-Trig 4 point touch drivers work perfectly! Not only did I think it was a driver issue...I wondered if it was a BIOS issue or issues with my upgrade to Windows 7.
The good part about this new technology is that it allows one to do so much more with their laptop...BUT...it can take a great deal of time to get it to function to one's liking.
I hope someone finds this thread useful and is saved from wasting any time trying to figure out what's wrong with the stylus.
