You may have to order an entire hard drive or DVD drive to get the board though.
Alright ive helped people find blu-ray drives and a few other various parts... now im looking for one.....
On the back of the DVD drive... there is a converter that takes it from SATA (drive) to IDE (I guess) and moves the connector to the left..... I am in desperiate need of another one of theese adapter boards.... Ive search high and low..... but cant find one to save my life.... i think i may be calling it the wrong name or something... ive been threw over 20 pages on ebay alone....
Anyone care to point me in the way of where i can get this? Please no smart arses pointing to google or ebay... I have looked....
Please help :) Ill give you a cookie :)
Ps. I need this cause im looking into hot swapping DVD and a back up drive.

Keep in mind that you may be able to use one from another model, HP is very good about trying to keep parts the same across lines when possible.
A broken DVD drive on ebay is the only place I'd see you being able to get one at a low price. (breaking your ebay discussion embargo)

I have one more ace up my sleeve to get the part from hp.... but idk hopefully that will work. I did find one drive though, but its $50. Working on that....
on a random note... i fixed a hp laser printer today.... i baked the format board in the oven ........

I know they're available, I found them while trying to figure out how to put a hard drive into the CD drive bay, but it took me a while to find it. Hopefully that's a good enough lead, couldn't re-find it myself after a few quick google searches.
