I might be missing something in your post but for my system, I have full access to my shared folders over my entire network.

I have a shared folder on each PC (all but one is vista) and can access them both ways. I have a server with Windows Server 2008 and a shared drive and can access all the shared folders on that drive.

On your Touchsmart, right click on "network" and choose properties then make sure "network discovery is on, file sharing is on, public folder sharing is on, media sharing is on, and (my own preference) password protected sharing is off. Also, make sure your workgroup name is the same on all your computers.
