That's the correct drive, and it's not going away, HP uses it in a variety of places in addition to the TouchSmart line.

I am thinking about purchasing a little hard drive to put in the slot on the top of my Touchsmart IQ816. I am afraid that with the IQ816 no longer being sold that the external disk drive will become unavailable. Is it the HP Pocket Media Drive. Is this the right one?

I got a couple of them and Love them. Not only do they work in the pocket media slot but they come with a cable as well which allows you to connect them to any computer with USB ports. The ones from HP also come with a nice zippered carrying case.
If you are a bit industrious and have an extra laptop drive, search ebay for the pocket media drive enclosure. I got one for 19.00 and added a 250 gig HDD to it.
