hi gurus,

i just bought external speaker (bose companion ii) and i wonder how can i connect them with touchsmart.  there is only one cable from the speakers box and i can coonect the via headphone ....can you help me guys????

the volum is too small...........

There's an audio out connector under the back cover, it's in the documentation, you don't need to use the headphone jack.

If you don't have your manuals you might want to download them from HP, they list all the connectors.

thanks for your answer Diane, but i think i tried that and i will try again!........

u dont meant to connect with the spdif port (orange)???

the speakers are "bose companion 2" and i have vista 64bit......

Have you downloaded your documentation? They even tell you how to hook up external speakers, the documentation is quite thorough.

Everything I see says there's an audio out under the cover like there is on every other IQ5xx series unit.

Really?

There's a point where you need to stand on your own two feet, start at www.hp.com and follow the links to support for your model. The documentation also weas shipped with your unit.

im asking that bc now im at work and everything is banned and in my place i don't have internet yet....

If you don't have internet connectivity it won't do much good to give you links then either will it? :-D

As I said, the documentation that came with the computer also has this information in it. Have you looked under the back cover yet? It's right next to the SPDIF connector in 95% of the units.
