well it took some time but my 826T now has a p9600 (t6600 before) 8gb of corsair memory and the best surprise of all, the Intel Wifi link 5300 oem card I put in works like a champ. Usually HP whitelists the bios to only include their wifi cards so I was glad to see it work. Instead of 2.4ghz N I am now getting 5.0ghz N and 300mbps throughput.

CPU was a pain with all the screws but if you take your time disassembly is actuall quite easy.

System is snappy as ever.

I was also able to load up a fresh install of win 7 64bit and found all of the Touchsmart software for reinstall

She is a bad boy now !!!!

Does the touch functionality work after reinstalling Windows? Or did you just re-install the OEM version it came with?

I had to search for the files to reinstall the touchsmart software. Windows 7 has some basic touch features but the HP programs add back in that nice.... well touch :-)

It's a nice walk through, but it was done way back before Windows 7 was released, Jan 2009 is the date on it. Now that Windows 7 is released you can get all the Touchsmart apps for your machine by just going to HP.com and using the support pages for your mode.
