Ha! I'd almost call that statement trolling for an argument. Perhaps if you elaborated on what you think is simple in OS X that isn't in Windows, that would be a start.
I'll start out by saying I'm not an OS X hater. I'll also say that while I've used Macs in the past, I don't have one currently. IMO, OS X did several things well, and some would even say 'simpler' and 'better' than Windows. But OS X isn't perfect either; it certainly has some frustrating sides, and there are many ways I find Windows easier to use.
In short, I've used 'em all: OS X, Windows (various flavors), and a dozen different Linux distros. For my main computing preferences and needs, Windows is the better OS for me. For basic web stations, Linux distros run on almost any old hardware I have and work just fine.
1. I tend to gravitate toward desktops for my main PC, and Apple just doesn't make a reasonably priced mid-size, mid-to-high performance desktop.
2. Gaming
3. I like to tinker with my hardware, change procs, video cards, sound devices, and other things as needs change. I can also plug in just about any peripheral to a Windows PC and find drivers for it.
4. Software compatibility (OS X has made tremendous ground here in the past few years, but many apps hit Windows before Mac) Other than Boxee, I can't think of a multi-platform app that went to Mac first.
Everyone wants to start a Windows vs. Mac war, but at the end of the day, both are great products, and while approch things in a different ways, they both get the job done. What's "simple" is often more in the eye of the beholder than it is fact.
