Hi

I have worked with a number of touch screen set-ups over the years and I am currently working with the  HP Touch Smart 600.

Using a blank cursor file that I have copied across to Windows 7 and creating a blank mouse theme, I have been able to hide the microsoft based cursor completely.

Nevertheless, it seems that embedded within the HP touchsmart software is a mandatory cursor and timer that is not tied to Windows 7.

Does anyone know if I can hack this up via the registry, or whether I will need to modify the code using VB?

Cheers

Paul

Hiding the mouse pointer, this third party app does the trick.
(It still show's the hold/right click but you can shut that off if you want in
Control panel under "Pen and Input devices" Pointer Options tab.)

It did take a moment for the mouse to disappear and reappear but works great and it's easy to use.

No joy I am afraid. It repressed the Windows cursor/mouse, but it seems that the there is a second cursor embedded within the HP touch software that is a separate level to Windows.

I think that the only way would be to modify the HP software itself, if this is at all possible.......

There is no special cursor in the TouchSmart software, however it does turn off certain tablet-related functionality, such as press-and-hold and flicks. What you may be seeing is the little "diamond" touch indicator. I'm not sure that can be turned off.

Yes, that is what I am seeing, along with clock timer when pages are loading

I take it that I am not able to access the code and modify it with an SDK?

If you mean the ring of green/blue sparkles when hosted applications load, you're right, that's not modifiable since it's baked into the binary.
