I just got a TouchSmart 600 and started using the Recipe Box program to put it in the kitchen.  It works Ok, but I don't like that you can put a picture of the dish in the recipe or the ingredients list.  I would like to customize it or create a new one.  I just downloaded the SDK.  I have also been following the ikitchen development, but it isn't as visually appealing at the TS recipe box.  Any ideas?

Hello Apophis..Thanks for your feedback. You can develop any program adhering the TouchSmart development guidelines and add into TouchSmart shell. You can check more under developers and use available resources to start your TS development.

Is it possible to edit the recipe box program or would I have to start from scratch?

To (legitimately) edit any program you need source code of that program which is different than having executable (that you get installed on your system). I guess, HP will not provide you with the source code of their program so you need to create your own program from scratch.

I figured as much. Thanks.

OK, I am still brainstorming this app. Does anyone have an idea how to store and retrieve recipes? I am thinking about having them stored individually as text files or should they be in a database (access)?
