My TouchSmart IQ506 crashed yesterday after I installed Norton ghost 12. Do not know why but seems I tried many ways to recovery the systems, it failed even if I used the HP recovery disks I burned before. Just called HP care and they promised to send me the recovery disks in 3-4 days and hopefully it will work again!
From this thing, I thought I need to back up my entire computer systems so I do not have to re-install all the software again and again if the computer crashes.
1. What software do I need to have in order to have an image of my computer. I know Ghost can do it but afraid to give another try. I heard from HP care that the HP recovery care seems work to backup the whole computer programs and files, is it true? Any suggestions?
2. I bought an hard drive dock which supports eSATA and USB, apprarently, eSATA has much faster support than USB.However, I am not sure how can I hook eSATA cable to my Touchsmart IQ506 computer. THe computer does not have eSATA port. So any solution I can make it works?

I use Acronis True Image Home.
I also have a SATA to USB adapter. I have not imaged a drive as large as my TS (750Gig) but the most I did was a 250 gig drive and it took about 30 mins to do. Once that was done, I copied it to a external USB HDD. Acronis allows you to create a bootable disk to recover a HDD from an image created on a USB HDD.
