In general laptop upgrade do not work that way, the systems are designed around the CPU heat and power needs. While you may be able to make small changes in the flavor of the CPU, you can not make large changes. Quad core is it for AMD, and they most likely are not able to be shoehorned in to your laptop.
The best way to get a huge speed increase? more RAM and an SSD to replace your hard drive.
Laptops are always a compromise compared to desktops.

my tx2 is my first amd laptop, so im not the familiar with AMD's processor line, and families, I want to know if i get another processor that had 4 cores maybe 8, for it because it will make my work alot easier for for me. i would like some with the same clock speed, or slightly lower. also will more cores cause it to heat up hotter then the Turion x2?
dark_yami1 said: Why replace with a SSD? arent they slower?nope.. and no idea why you think an SSD would be slow, small yes, slow, no.
i use cinema 4d, so using a SSD would give me faster render times, and make it easier to work?

I have no idea, I would ask that question in the Cinema 4d forums, but remember an SSD averages 120GB, that's on the small side, but they are fast.
However NO laptop in this format is a speed demon, they balance speed with weight and portability, if you want true flat out speed, get yourself in a desktop with a 10K drive and 8GB of RAM.

Actually, a monster graphics card is what he probably needs, which is not what you'll find in this laptop. I'm not sure whether Cinema 4D is more processor or graphics card based though.
Either way, this machine isn't going to get you what you want if you're doing any serious 3d work, which you're not since you're still in the learning process.
dark_yami1 said: Faster processor = Quicker render times.quad-core desktop PC with dedicated graphics card and 8GB RAM, even quicker rendering times, it's NOT all about CPU
Diane, it is quite clear that he's a computer expert, and thus I think it's time for us to back off and let him tell us how it is. XD
But, i do intend on getting a desktop to do this with, now i would like to know which video card would be the best to get at a reasonable price?

Video card for your laptop which is all but not replaceable? or video card for a desktop you don't yet have?
You're really not saying enough in your posts for those of us trying to help to be able to understand what you're talking about. If it's about the desktop you don't yet have, then this really isn't the place to discuss Cinema 4D issues
lol @ this thread.
If you know what your doing, stop asking on the fourm. Check out the below link.
