Cool I already did some of that stuff.
There are a lot of guides out there to SOLVE the heat issue! If you have used your tx2 for over 6months and heat has been a problem, you should know these tricks by now. I keep posting this around the forum as replies but now, it will be a full thread!
Before you apply these, download cpuz or any program that shows core temperatures and use your computer in times when it produces a lot of heat like when you play youtube videos etc. Note down your temperatures.
1. Go into all your power settings and set your ATI Powerplay and PCI Express to Max power saving or max battery life. I leave these settings when im playing "need for speed" and i barely get anymore heat than before I started. Also lower your processor's minimum processor speed, I have mine on 0% so it truely idles. Before you do the other steps, watch the temperatures drop!
2. Create or alter one of the power settings you use often for non intensive stuff and set 50% CPU max. Dont use 49% or below cos its no good except text/pic only webpages, music and taking notes.
3. Find guides to tune your hardware and stop their drivers from stressing them out. For e.g. disable audio enhancements and disable the modem etc.
4. Use 64bit windows...if you use a lot of open programs and have 4gb ram. Then people using battery a lot can disable paging File, indexing and enable harddrive cache etc. This can really improve your battery life.
5. Overhaul your computer. Defrag your drive with a good program, clean out junk files, etc with a good program like windows 7 manager or vista manager, cCleaner etc. This is more for people who want better battery life but it technically reduces heat as well be cause if the harddrive is idle more, it produces less heat.
6. Now if u still aint satisfied, read about K10STAT and use it. It is used to lower your CPU voltage. When your processor is working, it needs a set amount of power to do a command. If you give it anymore, it pukes it out as more heat. READ ABOUT K10STAT before using it! I got the most improvement from this one.
7. If you still are not satisfied, then you might be close to hell where the ambient (outside) temperature is higher than 80deg C. But still you have one more thing to do...get your surgical gloves on. Find a guide that helps you replace the thermal compound and clean up your fan and heatsink of dust and particles for easier airflow.
I have not done the 7th step and my laptop happily hangs around 45deg when idle to 61when in use at 50% cpu intensively. and it gets to 87 when I stress the cup at full speed. It was a lot worse originally!
My fan setting in BIOS is always on and im runnning windows 7 64bit, outside temperature is now 18degC outside and about 27 in my room. If you follow these steps, you will get a drop in temperature like never before GUARANTEED!
PS. if you know any good guides needed here, please post the links like this..

Thats great dude. What numbers have you done and what temps do you get? Im getting 37degC now and im just browsing some pdfs for exams at midnight.
...I have gone through steps 1-5 , I would not however like to undergo steps 6 or 7, no offense to anyone out there who finds either useful. Since performing these steps my Temperature has dropped from an almost always constant 93c to a now teeter tottering 55c (Plus or minus 2 or 3 degrees, depending). I have been thoroughly impressed with this thread!

Hello,
I have tried to find out the solution for my problem everywhere but looks like i can find some help here. I bought this Tx2z 2 yrs ago. I never formatted in 2yrs but had to format it last week because i now see Windows 7 everywhere in my office, friends PCs and at cafes. I formatted my laptop and installed Windows 7, of course Windows 7 installed all required drivers automatically as it does. I am a big fan of NFS MW, but when i installed NFS this time and tried running it, it gives me error everytime saying speed.exe has stopped working. I have tried tricks on almost every forum but nothing helped. Does anyone here has any idea about how it may work? Thanks
The northbridge/igp doesn't have the cooling required to work properly. Unless you want to take apart the computer a cook the chip with a hairdryer or something don't use any 3d apps.
Also, all those steps are not the solution. Filing a complaint with the BBB is. Enough filers will probably result in a recall or refund for systems that fail just out of warranty by design of the heatsink.
