You might be able to install iTunes 9.2, update the phone, then uninstall 9.2 and go back to the version that works until the TS apps can be updated to work with 9.2.
So, a while back I updated my itunes software to 9.2. Soon after, I noticed my touchsmart music software was unable to access it. I was told on this site, that usually this happens and that HP eventually updates their TS software to fix the issue. So i rolled back to my old version of Itunes and it then was fine again. Well, today I was going to update my wife's Iphone to the new 4.0 software (big update) but Itunes needs to once again, be updated first. So to make a long story short.....
I can't update my Iphone till I update my Itunes but can't do that till I update my TS!!!!!!

GTG is pointing you in the right direction, a week after iTunes 9.2 release is a bit fast to expect the elves at HP to create and release an updated version.
Is there another PC you can use for this?
Also worth noting, this is not a REQUIRED update, nice and shiny, yes, but you can wait (ok.. I know many CAN'T because they musthavenewshiny)

don't know what happened. didn't run any Hp update, TS update, or Itunes update. However, the problem went away after a couple of months and everything now works fine again. the only updates that were ran recently were an iphone update to firmware 4.0.2 and some windows updates. very odd.
