I have no idea why you posted your problem to two completely unrelated threads, or even how you found them.
You are far better off in a forum like this with a post that says what your problem is.
What model Touchsmart laptop do you have? that will help a lot, and there is no reason you should not be able to place the SD Card in the slot, and windows will recognize it and allow you to look at or copy the images.
You may have a hardware problem with the SD Card reader if it has never worked.

I have a problem with the SD Slot Card or the computer itself, since it doesn't recognise my photos in the slot card I am getting quite frustrated with the computer. I would like to know if you can help me to fix this situation. I would like to simply put the sd card in the slot and see my jpg photos on my hp touchscreen laptop. Don't know what to do.
