Not going to work, they use a laptop style video cable with a ribbon connector, unless you have the full diagrams you won't be able to use the monitor section.
There's not a single ready made connector on the planet for what you want to do, it's all going to be done by hand.
Is it possible? probably? is it easy? definitely not.
You can buy a 19" LCD panel for $100 that will do that job, the time and effort to do what you want even if you have the skills needed is over $100 worth of value.
I'm all for innovation, but unless you're very skilled with the existing laptop technology in the IQ770, this is a huge job.

So I have a iq770 that has what appears to be a bad video card and I have the screen fully off of the unit. I would like to make the monitor into a stand alone monitor that I can mount to a wall. Does anyone know how / what connector adapters I will need? I have identified the power cable, audio, what appears to be a USB type connection. There is the video cable and a other cable. I would appreciate any help. I would be more than happy to donate sone of the parts for some insight. I have plenty of pictures.
one cable is for the vga and other for the touchscreen controller,
not easy not even a single bit,
a few years back when my pos system i was using as a juke box died,
i had the same idea,
took me hours going through and testing each label so i could correctly connect them to a vga cable i took apart,
the touchscreen was the real pain the control got damaged after i crossed the wires,
so had to use a third party one,
so it will take some time and patience but can be done....
So Lug, Did you have success with this? What can you tell me, any pictures or diagrams to share?
Acidforum, Same thing, since you have been through the exercise, crossed wires and all, do you have any diagrams or advice that could help those of us still interested in giving this a shot?
I too have a TouchSmart IQ775 with a bad video card. I really want to mount just the screen to the wall also and hook a small form desktop to the thing.
I tried for about 2 weeks. I had no luck. It would have cost so much money in a part and still been kinda ghetto. By the time it was said nad done it was better quality and cheaper for me to buy a 22" touch screen monitor that was on sale at Comp USA for like $200!!!
sounds like something would have tried if any would of succeeded,
question is that touch screen still on sale at comp usa? hell of a deal!
