I had some problems getting this to work with Windows7 64bit, but finally managed to get it working. In case other run into the same problem, here is how I did it.

What happened after installing and updating Windows 7 I was unable to use the login with fingerpring and Digital Persona. Whenever I tried it told me that the fingerprint reader was unavailable.

Whenever I tried to update the driver I always saw two to choose from, which gave some sort of clue what to do. I also got another program courtesy from Microsoft to login to my notebook using my fingerpring. I think what happens is that Windows Update installs Microsoft drivers and software for the fingerprint reader, which don't go well with Digital Persona. 

In the end I managed to fix this problem by reinstalling Windows 7 without an Internet connection. Installed the fingerprint reader driver and Digital Persona and it has been working without a problem ever since.
