Check with HP... If it came with Vista 32 bit it may not be capable of running 64 bit software. I'm not saying that it isn't, but it's definitely something to look into. A fine alternative would be Windows 7 32 bit OS as it will definitely have fewer(if any) driver issues.
Hello everyone!
I picked up a nice used HP IQ770 Touchsmart a little while ago and I installed windows 7 64 bit on the computer, everything BUT the nVidia GeForce Go 7600 video driver installed...
I cannot get any of the software from nvidias website to install on this computer, nor does HP have any software for this PC for windows 7 64 bit.
Any help is welcomed. And no there is no fried component in the computer, nothing has died or become defective, the computer works with windows vista 32 bit (what it came with), I just want windows 7 64 bit...
HP Has drivers for both Vista 32-bit and vista 64-bit for the IQ770, the problem is since I'm not running vista, I'm running windows 7, that the driver files wont install because it doesnt detect windows vista.
But either way its ok, I did manage to get it working, windows update had the Windows Display Driver Module (WDDM)
Thank you anyway :)
