My 526t suddenly stopped lost it's display.  When powered up, the power button immediately goes to yellow and does not stay blue.  The display stays black, though I can hear it boot.  The "touch" function still seems to work as I can hear it when I move around the screen.  Spoke to HP techs, had the memory reseated and tried their bios reset suggestions all with no luck.  Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did it get resolved?  Heard it might be the motherboard.  Is it worth replacing?  I hate to trash the thing as it's not even 2 years old yet.  Any help would be appreciated.

The status of the power LED would suggest that you've got a pretty serious issues, and motherboard is the right direction.

The touch interface beep is generated by the touch interface board, and that comes before the actual OS and motherboard.

I hate to say it, but it does not sound good as far as it being an easy fix.

Thanks for the feedback. Does not seem to be the power supply since the system is powered. It's almost like in perpetual "sleep" mode. Guess I'll try for a new motherboard. I've been searching them out and the prices range all over the place. Best I've seen is $138 for a new one. Not bad considering there are refurbished ones for $400.
