Any chance of adding this?

On the main Forum page there is a link to mark all messages read. On the home page there is a list of recent discussions.

Thanks for your suggestions Neil. I am aware of that button but I'm not sure if it does what I am requesting does it? If I don't visit the website for a day or even a week it is nice to have 1 click access to all posts that have been posted since my last visit. Does the "recent discussions" button do this? thanks again.

In the left column of the recent discussions page, you'll see a bunch of icons. The page will show you all of the latest activity, but the icons will be specific to your account since your last visit and will help guide you to new stuff. There's a legend at the bottom of the page to show you what all the icons mean.

Again, thank you for your reply/suggestion.  I do know this already....just trying to streamline things by incorporating a 1 click solution to viewing posts that have been made since my last visit.  MANY other forums utilize this function.  No biggie, just a suggestion.   :)

It is a great suggestion. I'll bring it up to the code monkeys here and see if we can get something like this wired in to the platform in a future build. :)

And while you're at talking with the coding guys, I think it would be great to talk about the ability to search the forums as well. Currently I think the search is limited to everything but the forums.

For example, when I search for "MEF", something I know was discussed, but can't remember where, I don't get any results pointing me to the forum thread.

I also couldn't get a hit on that term, so I assume something got corrupted in the search index. I've rebuilt the search indices, and that seems to have solved the problem. If you search MEF now, your forum thread will show up. Simple fix. Shouldn't happen often, but it does occur from time to time.

You can also refine your search using the advanced search tools on the search page. The default search looks at everything (articles, blogs, forums etc), but you can adjust this to search a particular area of the site (only forums, etc.) as well as by category. Type in your search term in the top box and hit search, then you'll see the options to narrow it down on the search page.

Did you also know, you can link to any custom search? Set up your search, hit search, then grab the URL in the bar. For example, this link searchs for "MEF" in only forums across all categories.  http://www.touchsmartcommunity.com/search?search=MEF&select=any&type=...

EXACTLY Dave!  Most forums have that button feature.
