I downloaded the new driver for IQ804 (GForce 9300M GS) and it will not load.  I'm getting a message saying it cannot find the drivers????  Is it because the new drivers are Beta?

Are they Vista Drivers?

If you got the driver from anyone but HP's support site for the IQ804, there are no guarantees that any testing has taken place and that the driver will work with the IQ804. I know that nVidia has posted some beta drivers at their website, so if that's where the driver is from, I think it would be best to stick with what's "in the box".

Thanks, I will wait for either Hp to come out with a new driver or Nvidia to come out with other than a Beta version.

I have a client with a TouchSmart IQ500; needed to run Vista Business (64bit) instead of the Vista Home Premium (64bit). After loading the new OS as a clean install, Windows does not find the Nvidia and the HP drivers do not as well...running with the system VGA for now and the touchscreen works fine.

Any clues as to why the Nvidia shows up as an unknown display controller? Any workarounds? I have removed the Unknown device, restarted, Windows finds and attempts to locate a driver but fails. Rinse, Repeat...

Similar problem here: can't use the Nvidia updater, so some of games keep reminding me my driver needs updating. Never owned a computer that I can't update through the Nvidia site!

I have the same problem.

I got a IQ506 and whenever i try to update the drivers it will say that it could not find the drivers for my PC or something like that.

Any ideas on how to install this?

Thanks

There is a new version of the TS with the Vista 64 Business OS on it, the DX9000 or something like that. You might check the HP website for driver info or check with HP on whether the restore disks from that PC would work or have extractable drivers on it that you could use.

I have the same problem with my IQ820, it's imposible to update nvidia drivers. few game doesn't work at all, because original driver is to old.

All, I just posted a step-by-step walkthrough in another thread for getting the IQ816's NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GS working correctly with the NVIDIA Windows 7 x64 / Windows Vista x64 drivers under Windows 7 x64 RC 7100.

These steps should also work for Windows Vista x64, and moreover, they should work for the NVIDIA GeForce 9300M GS card. Just be sure to read through them carefully.

Thank you so, so much Mike. Your instructions were clear, easy to follow and worked like a dream. I would have stood no chance otherwise.
