This did not help. im guessing there is a registry entry with a %homedir% variable in it that references the location to save the webcam pics to. I looked at many many registry entries about the webcam but did not find one for the destination folder.
I purchased 83 touchsmart computers and I installed them in 83 classrooms. All the users log in with netowrk accounts to the domain. The network users are not able to use the webcam software properly. They click the "snapshot" or the "record" button. Neither button will save the data to the account. After we click the buttons nothing happens. I logged into the computer as a local user and the software works fine and saves the data fine. I assume the problem is that the users "documents" folder is mapped to their network drive like any other domain environment. The docmuents folder is the location that the touchsmart webcam software saves to. I do not see an option to change the output directory. Can you help me fix this? I have alot of teachers getting antsy.
Not really. Even if the software were to allow a setting like that, recording to a network location would likely be too risky, since you couldn't guarantee throughput or even availability of network/storage space easily.

Here is a suggestion I got from another forum. Ill try it tomorrow.
some HP software cannot correctly recognize UNC path names (e.g. \\SERVER\SHARE\FOLDER). you may try mapping the folder to a drive instead, e.g. F:\FOLDER.
