I produce digital blueprints using the tablet. Recently the pen function went to hell. I thought it might be updates. (still not convinced it's not) The pen will not be noticed sometimes or it will skip around.  Making my tablet unuseable for the work I do. This is my second tablet. My first TX2 the MB connector to the monitor went bad.

Questions:

Can the Pen itself go bad?

Should I reinstall the OS?  (if so I need to order the discs)

could I have picked up some malware to cause this. ( this is a work only computer,

although have have done some surfing and Facebooking  on it)

Things I've tried:

Restore back to a date prior the issue. (done this 2 times once with MS in safe mode)

Disable the N-trig drivers.  I don't need mutitouch

plugged in or not doesn't matter.

Thanks for any input.

Well I got no response :( but .. I'll post the solution. To help anyone else with a strange situation like I had.

YES .. the pen can go bad. Somehow mine did. Not only that not all TX2 pens are interchangeable. I have a TX2 2525 that pen does not work with my TX2 1020. I also went to Microcenter localy and tried the pen on the new TX2 that also did not work with my 1020.

Glad to have it fixed, but sheesh what I went though to figure that out.

Hey! this has happened to me twice, the first time I sent my tablet in for repairs, they replaced the screen, the second time, it was after \I install n-trig<s multitouch driver. The multitouch driver seems to deactivate the digitizer, or at least destroy it<s effeciency, I managed tofix the pen issue by going to the hp support page and downloading the duosense driver from there (took away multi-touch) I would really enjoy a developper reviewing this issue so I can have the best of both worlds. I am certain this is the case and I changed my screen for nothing because I am using the same pen ive had since i bought the tablet.

So The pen stopped working again !!! I don't think it's the pen this time. I have a Q1 tablet the pen worked on that. I uninstalled the Ntrig driver too .. still no response from the pen. This is very disheartening.
