Really strange.

If I have a .jpg file saved to my desktop, clicking it will not open the file any more.

If I move the file to a folder on my desktop, it works like a charm. Just started happening the last couple of days.

My default program to open photos is Windows photo gallery. If I change the program it works.

Any clue???

Just an update.

If I open up my wife's user side of the PC, I can open .jpg's on her desktop.

Not mine though.

Anybody with ideas?

Not sure if it will help, but it's a start, I think.

This fixed the problem.

I had an eBay shortcut on my desktop. Deleted it and now all is well.

Found it using this a s a search parameter:
"can't open jpeg files on desktop"
