I don't have the right desk for this new computer
Can someone chat about the set up in their space?

I have my  hands in the air all the time.
And then my shoulder starts to hurt after hours and hours of  fun.
My chair or the desk is the wrong height.

I want to lay it flatter when I am working on photos
but then I need to stand it up when I am watching video.
This thing is quite heavy to do that easily.

Maybe something like a swivel arch hinge.
or HP should sell special furniture too....

I plan to leave this great toy to venture to a furniture store to see what I can find.
Suggestions welcome.

If you want to move it around a lot to change your working/viewing angle, you should look at 1. the VESA wall mount hardware and 2. a heavy duty mopunting arm.

We use things like that in the hospital to move large monitors around some of our surgical rooms. They mount on the wall and allow us to move the monitors into almost any position that we want. There are consumer versions of them as well. Not sure where you can find them but I'm sure some other members here will suggest something. I'll look around in the mean time and see what I can find.

EDIT: Heres a link for some at cyberguys.com... a vendor I have purchased computer parts from in the past.

Woohoo! I won my Touchsmart!

This is the only LCD arm I could find heavy duty enough for the 38+lb Touchsmart. (7500-1500)

http://www.lcdarms.com/products/LCD_Radial_Arms/7500.html

It does require a vesa 100x200 adapter plate. The available handle kit does not work with the adapter unfortunately, which is why I canceled my order and went with the peerless IM750p mount. I gave up the height adjustability of the 7500 but gained a profile 3" closer to the wall.

I think the 7500 would be awesome with the TS using the desk mount option. It could then be pulled around to be nearly flat when needed.

I have my IQ804 on a desk with wheels I took the top off the desk put sturdy drawer brackets on the keyboard tray a plastic stop gard on the back of the tray, the desk is wide enough for the 804 just slides in and out. Now i put long cable wire on my 804 and a long applince extenction cord.now i can sit on the livingroom chair or the sofa or take it to the kitchen without disconnecting anything.now the pc sets low enough to touch screen, the tray is high enough to glideover tha arm of the chair.i can rest my elbow on the armrest and reach the screen with no stress. i can pull the tray close for typing or push it away for vewing tv. yesterday i was watching live tv. on one corner of the screen playing a online game in another, and had a program downloading all at once, nothing slowed down, it was great. oh yes i allmost forgot to say i put two (u)shaped brackets on the back of the desk to wind the cord on i just need to unwind enough to get to where i want to sit. and when i park the desk in thethere is no wire showing at all.

in JANUARY 09I wrote on this about idea. I wanted a swivel to make my screen lay down for my IQ816 and now look they have one,
Can I order a new swivel back for my computer?
HP is using my Idea
Just wondering, If they would give anything for that "swivel to lay it down idea!" I would be really happy with a swivel attachment for my IQ816
I gotta a bunch of other ideas too.

HP fanactic, Quin
