You can buy any 3.5" SATA drive, in general 500GB plus is what these units came with.
You can order a recovery kit for your unit from HP if it still has a serial number, if not you will need to buy yourself a copy of Vista or Win7 from your favorite retailer, and then download the appropriate applications from hp.com.
I strongly recommend ordering the recovery kit from HP if possible.

Sorry to display my absolute ignorance at such an early stage......
I recently purchased an IQ510uk from an auction, without realising that it did not contain a hard drive/operating system!
I've checked out the useful links that show how to replace the hard drive, but exactly what hard drive do I need? Is there a particular type that fits Touchsmarts? Where can I purchase them from online (in England)??
Also any idea of how I might obtain an operating system?
Again, sorry for my complete IT ignorance!
