I forgot to say can i install a INTEL CORE 2 DUO MOBILE T9500 2.60GHz/6MB/800MHz as well

i got this machine to try some photo editing. But its to slow even my web pages don't scroll smooth..Its a nice machine but not that powerfull.I tryed to take it back to the shop but they won't take back so iam stuck with it..So all i can try is to upgrade cpu and graphics card

One thing you may want to try is taking advantage of Vista's "Ready Boost". On several of my lower powered systems, using readyboost has resulted in a significant increase in video performance.
To take advantage of it you need a ready boost supported SD Card or USB thumb drive. I prefer the DS card method. In any event, the faster, the better. On one of my laptops, I use an 8 GIG SDHC card and use half for storage and the other half for readyboost.

Also, do you mean to say you have 6mb ram or 6 GB RAM? I know the answer...I just couldn't resist.

I looked at the service manual for the 800 series and didn't see anything about changing out the graphics chip.

OK, dug a little deeper and found this on HP's website and it indicates that not only the 510 (which the link below is specific to) but other models have PCIe (express) slots, one 16x and a 1x slot. Interesting....

Thanks for your reply David..I will give the ready boost a shot..I ask my loacl copmuter shop today and they said they could fit a new cpu for me..Its a an Intel E8400 Core 2 Duo Processor - 3.00 GHz, 6MB L2 Cache, 1333MHz FSB, Socket LGA775, 45mn..But i think the bus speed is too fast it should 800mzh

Cheers

You will not be able to get the full performance out of the new cpu. The FSB maxxes out at 800 MhZ. It will run slower but the larger cache miht make a bit of a difference. Would probably be a big investment though and heat migh be a n issue.

Try the inexpensive route first and try readyboost.
