I have a new touchsmart tm2-2150 laptop and the USB ports are a bit squirrelly.  The plugged-in drives will bounce "on" and "off" as the machine struggles to recognize them.  Of course, this means that various screens keep popping up on the main screen and my work keeps disappearing and reappearing!  This happens on any device I plug in and on all 3 USB ports.  And it happens only in spells.  When I plug in my android phone, I get a connnection only often enough to cause me to suspect the laptop and not the phone is the faulty culprit.  Compounded to the frustration is the spotty appearance of the "Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media' icon on the right bottom toolbar.  How can that icon keep appearing  and reappearing?  Doesn't make sense at all.  Any thoughts?
