I, for one, would really like to sync it with my google calendar. I haven't seen a way to do this. Am I missing something?
My biggest complaint on the calendar is it's limited functionality. The first thing I tried to enter ran into troubles.
Example:
My cleaning ladies come every other Wednesday at 10:20 and the other weeks on Thursdays at 2:20. I can see why I'd have to treat these as seperate events and create 2 sets of repeating items in the calendar, but even that won't work. As it stands, I would have to create 4 seperate repeating events to get it to work in this calendar.
Items can repeat daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly, but not bi-weekly (which is commonly found in calendar software). I also can not set 20 minutes after the hour as the start time. Only 00, 15, 30, and 45 are options. People's lives do not always work on 15 minute increments. In this particular example, it's not that big of a deal, but there are other instances when you need to know the exact time of an event.
Like many other TouchSmart functions, the calendar looks great and has a ton of potential, but just doesn't seem to be done yet.
This is by no means a complaint thread-- I love the HP Touchsmart software so far. My music syncs perfectly with iTunes, and as I keep all my images on an external drive (have had too many hard drive failures not to!), it isn't hard navigating to exactly the ones I want to show when I use it. I've read many suggestions that call for precise choice as to which folders the Touchsmart software monitors for Music, Pictures, and Video, and I would second that, but I found no suggestion for a feature I would like, so I thought I would add it here in case the Powers That Be are reading :)
The Calendar feature currently autosyncs with Windows Calendar. I like Windows Calendar, but I like Microsoft Outlook's built-in calendar more. That is also the calendar that syncs to my iPod, and I would like for them all to match each other. I would like to see an option for the Calendar to sync with Windows Calendar or Microsoft Outlook's calendar (and others, if they are popular options for people, like Google Calendar?). Other than that, loving it so far!
Unless, of course, this is already an option and I'm just not seeing how to make it happen?
hello....did anyone ever figure out how to synch the TS calendar with MS Outlook?
If theres a way to sync Outlook with google and since google syncs with the touchsmart, that would probaly work. Its a feature that I would like sinc eI rely on my PDA phone quite a bit.

Well, I just read the MS outlook can be synced with google calendar. So since google can sync with the TS calendar and outlook, then it should be possible to do it that way. Gonna have to give it a try. This could be good!

SUCCESS!!
OK, it may not be free but it works. I used a program called syncmycal which synchronizes any and all google calendars with any version of outlook and the sync is two ways, which means you can enter info into you google calendar/touchsmart calendar or your Outlook calendar and it is updated across the board.
I tried google's calendar sync but it only works for the default calendar which I don't use of course since its easier to use my TS calendar.
This seems to be a big find and I'm going to use the trial for a few days and see how things go. Individual user licenses are $25.00 which isn't too bad providing the product does what its intended to do and support is good.
More on this as I learn more.
Right now, I've been able to sync all three of my calendars.
I'll also be publishing a tutorial soon.

sorry I hadn't posted back about it yet. With finals, graduation and now taking a break on vacation, I hadn't had much time to do much computing.
I'll be back "behind my desk" next week and should be able to play around with all the software I have been testing.
In a nutshell, syncmycal has worked for me but it has crashed twice on bootup. Not sure if it is due to other software I'm running...or was just running - I uninstalled the latest norton product that I was asked to test...just as bad as the last, but it seems like the crashes happpened after I uninstalled norton. So, when I get back I'm going to do a clean install and start again so I'll be able to give an update then.

OK, I have played around with the somewhat limited free version of syncmycal and my final verdict is that it is really a winner for those of you that want to sync hteir google, touchsmart and outlook calendars. It works quite well for me and I may just spring for the full $25.00 version.
The limits on the freeware version are that you must manually sync - the full version syncs automatically, and the free version only updates a week at a time, while the full version updates your whole calendar.
Since I do most of my work in google calendar, I create my appointments in google and when I'm done, I just right click the syncmycal button in the task notification area on the taskbar. Outlook is updated as well as the touchsmart calendar!! It really has solved the problem.
I also created an appointment in the Touchsmart calendar which synchronized with both outlook and google so it works all three ways.
Heres a link to the website I got it from: http://www.syncmycal.com/index.htm
I'm not in any way affiliated with them, I just found it by doing a google search and tried out a few solutions till I found one I like.
Give it a try.

At work with mails a lot of people use other utilities, but on as regards myself,I use next tool-convert windows contacts to .pst, because tool is reliable, besides that it has many admissibilities, and has free free status as far as I can see,it store all contacts, emails and tasks on Microsoft Exchange Server, mail server outage usually means loss of all contacts, can extract your contacts from files with *.ost and *.pst extension and convert it to *.vcf files, that can be opened with Personal Information Management (PIM) or Windows Address Book, can be extracted in *.eml and *.txt formats, another option consists in transforming *.ost file to a *.pst one, program will work under all supported versions of Microsoft Exchange Server and Microsoft Outlook email client, convert Windows contacts to .pst and Outlook contact export vcf, you can read user's manual, it is included in the same installation file for convert and ost and Outlook and contacts, yet convert pst file Outlook contacts and convert contact pst Outlook, should not exceed 1Gb.
