hi

I have a tx2 1012nr and I had to replace the board three times because of issues. Finally I got everything working again except for the fact the back slot for the memory is malfunctioning. The computer throws memory blink codes when any module (i've tried a few) is inserted in the bottom slot. I can ONLY run the computer off of the top slot. I am running win7 ultimate. Could the problem really be the motherboard, AGAIN? Or is there something else I could do to get the bottom ram slot functional?

Take the RAM out of the other slot and try it in the bad slot. Since you know at least one of the RAM modules is working (the one in the top slot) its the best bet for checking the bottom slot.

I just got the same problem on the same model HP. Top memory slot works fine, but if you put any ram into the bottom slot the computer gives the 3 LED blink code indicating a RAM problem. If I only put 1 ram SODIMM in the top slot everything works.

Suggestions?
