Hi,

I just received my new IQ500 and was VERY happy with it except for one thing: constant annoying static over the speakers when in the TouchSmart application.  It started when I played music through the Music applet and was horrible through the Basic Tutorial.  I was very disappointed and was about to call support, thinking that I'd have to wrap it back up and send it back.  I was curious about the DVD applet so I threw in a DVD.  The resolution looked like a very old highly compressed mpeg file was playing.  Something's very wrong with that BTW.  So, I figured I'd see if Vista Media Center looked any better.   Both music and DVD played fine in Media Center and when I returned to the TouchSmart application the static problem was gone.  So far, it hasn't come back either.  (The HP DVD applet still plays at some weird grainy resolution though.)

 I just figured that if that's something you can start fixing at the factory, it would save us all a few grey hairs.  I've already got enough.
