My computer in dining area, tv in living room, I'm looking for advice in connecting the 2 without cables strung throughout the house!  I've been trying to research options, but decided that those of you here would have the best advice for workability and also price.  I have a Touchsmart 600-1390, and Direct TV service.  Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks!

moved over here since this isn't really a Touchsmart specific subject.
The normal answer is "buy a wireless router" is there a reason that won't do what you want?

But then the bigger question is what do you really want to accomplish here?

Hi, sorry for the spot I picked, I wasn't sure.
What I'd like to accomplish is to be able to view the tv on the computer & to view the computer on the tv. I do have a wireless router, but well maybe I'm just confused or something? With them in different rooms, my question is how to accomplish that without having to run a cable between the 2?
Thanks

wow.. you really are asking something different, but I have no idea how to help you.

Wireless video technology is just beginning to make inroads, when you add in that the Touchsmart doesn't even have a video output you're in a very brave new world. http://www.intel.com/consumer/products/technology/wirelessdisplay.htm

I'm going to go and move this thread again to try and get a better response, but there are not a lot of people doing this yet, and I don't feel like you'll find any easy ways to do it.

Most of the time the answer is "hire a company to do your wiring in the walls for you"

Would a blu-ray player with wifi accomplish this?

A Blu-ray player with wifi can stream music, photos, and run a few applications that its manufacturer provides.

I'm still not sure that you're asking the right questions, are you looking to stream data? or stream a full display? there's a huge difference between what you asked about wireless displays and just streaming data between devices.
