I am hoping someone can tell me where I can buy the connector that is used to connect a standard laptop drive to my TX2's motherboard. It is a connector that attaches to the pins on the HD and then slides into the connection on the motherboard.
Last April, right before finals, my TX2 died and I panicked. I bought a new desktop PC (Touchsmart 610) and removed the HD from the TX2 to use it as an external drive for the desktop. I had to remove the connector (the one I am trying to replace) to hook it up to a USB adapter.
Now I've finally had time to try PrototypeNM1's repair and it was successful. Unfortunately, I can't find the connector I took off of the HD back in April. Thanks in advance! bjc

N/M! Reading through the posts here and looking for ideas pointed me HP's website. I think what I am looking for is a "Hard disk drive hardware installation kit."
