Hi mou
I installed developer preview on a tx2 this morning
Did you get an n-trig driver/utilities to install on win8?
thanks,
doddy
Hey everybody,
got anyone of you the n-trig drivers working vor win8?
regards
nope, n-trigs installer got fatal error. in win7 compatibility mode, too.
Get the latest n-trig drivers down from HP and run the setup app.
When you get "fatal error" DO NOT CLOSE THE WINDOW!
Hit Win-R and enter %TEMP% before hitting enter
look for the latest folder and drill down until you see a file called something like "DPINST.EXE" (this may not be exact, I don't have the machine in front of me at the moment), right-click and run as Administrator.
Your drivers should now be installed and everything becomes a lot smoother.
Hope this works for you. Enjoy!
yeah, jjthacker
you are my hero^^
it works!
do you also know how "startmenu" is accessible only with the finger?
Slide inwards from the right side of the screen you should have a bar with five icons appear, one of them is the smart menu.
yes i know the 5-button-bar^^
but it only popup for me if I use the touchpad, not if I use the stylus or my fingers
@jjthacker - genius :) That makes a whole lot of difference.
Seems like I only have 2 touch points now though?
Can we enable more than 2 on Win8?
@doddy - No idea I am afraid, maybe in the release version of 8?
@mou - Sorry, no idea then, it works on mine.
quick reply cheers jj
Wonder if it's a Win8 thing or an n-trig thing...
Doesn't really matter I guess - it's a bit of a brick anyway :)
@mou - does your tx2 Win8 install have only 2 touch points? I checked on the paint app or even better the piano app...
nope, I have 4 POCs.
and the bars can I now scroll from the sides of the display. For that I have to touch the last pixel from the borders of the display :)
but I cant arrange more than one app on the display, the second app doesnt lock on the display :(
Thanks mou - could you copy a link to the drivers you installed? I got mine from n-trig site...
64Bit Win7 Driver for tx2 1020us
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-8079...
but I think it's the same driver, only in another package.
Hi
I've got an xt 2 from dell and your guide worked for me. There are two dpinst.exe on in the main Folder and the other in the x64 Folder instal both.

ok, now to the problem why I can`t dock apps.
I found the possible solution on HaiTeq blog.
it seems to be not possible to dock apps with a screen resolution smaller than 1366×768.
Thanks for your help mou - how can I confirm how many touch points I have?
Did you have to install n-act as well as the latest driver?
put so many fingers as possible to your display, lift your fingers fast and count the circles :D
or go to the control panel-->system, the is a small note how many fingers you can use
and yes I've installed n-act, too.
Hey thanks for your quick reply.
Nope only 2 points. Also I can't see an n-trig control panel option and there's nothing like that on Control Panel - System.
Just to check mine is a tx2 1340ea - yours?
When I run the n-trig driver and get the files from temp, there's an NtrigPanel.cpl but it won't start...

Hey, on the pic you can see:
right arrow: n-act
left arrow: 4 touchpoints
down arrow: the small note I`ve meant
btw my tx2 is a 1020us
