Did you look in Device Manager?
Jsut received my new TS 526T and so far so good except for using the Webcam witthin TS/Notes. I get the following error:
"Webcam not found. Please check the webcam and try again."

Weird. As strange as it was to not have the webcam appear in Device Manager....out of the blue...it has just appeared! Really really weird. There wasn't anything called "Imaging Devices" as well and now there is. Really bizarre.

Now I think my mic is dead. No audio in Audio notes or when using the webcam

Have you tried to see if the microphone was working in Wiondows Sound Recorder? Its under Accessories.

Sorry, obscure joke reference. It's from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. In one of the books of the increasingly inaccurately named trilogy there's a story about a Chesterfield sofa appearing and then disappearing for no apparent reason in the middle of a Cricket match.

P.S. The Webcam has disappeared again. HP Tech Support was no help; they wanted me to send the IQ in for repair. HP Store was a bit more helpful; They're sending me a new IQ with same spec's. Should be here in about 1.5 weeks.

No harm. I do appreciate you trying to add some levity to my situation. :) Except for my issue with the Webcam and mic, the IQ has been perfect. I'm very impressed and I look forward to receiving my replacement IQ. It's been a HUGE hit with my family as well.

Sort of; they shipped me an iq804 (25.5") by mistake which I promptly sold on eBay with a $600 profit. Then when HP finally shipped me the correct model/size, the webcam was flaky and the mic never worked.

Hey Rodam1001,
Was just getting ready to return mine when you were getting yours. Have been criticized on these boards for being too critical - for wanting the software to work (hmmm... such a strange notion). Had to check in and see what you think. Ignoring the hardware issues: do you like the software and think it's ready for retail?
On the flip side, see the hardware issues are haunting you. Bummer - though the $600 flip on eBay has to make it all a bit easier.

My replacement TS 526T arrived today with a perfectly working webcam. I'm back in business! :)

Not a good start for me and my IQ526t; HP support recommended that I perform a full System Recovery in order to get the webcam back. That did not work. so now they want me to send it back to HP for repair. This is BS. No wonder everyone hates these things.
