Story about display

Hey everyone, I just bought my touchsmart tx2 1025 from Bestbuy, I got the first one home and I did not like the screen it had a matte finish and the colors on a white backgroud were very granulated, like static on an old tv or when you wet a screen it seperates the pixels.  So I exchanged it and booted anotherone up in the store, it was the exact same thing.  I ended up getting the display which has a great looking glossy screen and looks so much better and more clear.  Anyone know if the matte finish was an option or defect or just how it was supposed to come?

Fan and DVD

My issue is that it was a display so naturally I am paranoid over everything about it.  The fan runs all the time, in low with or without the power supply, and mostly high with the power supply hooked up.  Is that typical?  Its not that noisy or bothersome just wondered.  The other thing is the DVD drive makes a good amount of noise when reading a CD, I think thats typical of high speed drives now though.  

I really enjoy it so far just sucks when you get something that everyone has had a chance to touch and wear out for you already.
