But in general they're pretty picky about replacement CPUs
What was the latest intel processor offered on the IQ 800 SERIES?
Exp Intel core 2 duo P7570.

This thread http://www.touchsmartdevzone.com/forum/thread/1139/Upgrade-CPU/ is pretty much the main discussion over a long period of time about what does and doesn't work on these machines...
I noted that I updated the CPU on my EVE motherboarded IQ5xx to a T9500 way back when... I am typing on that very computer right now, so I can say that it definitely works. I never did upgrade the wife's computer (which has a Maureen board in it instead of the Eve board)... never needed it for what she does with her computer.
