I have an IQ775 and I want to turn off my wireless LAN capability and only connect via a network cable. How do I turn off my wireless feature?

Thanks...

If you go to your network connections in control panel, you can disable the wireless device. Simply right-click it and click disable.

Is there any way to get that blue light off on the front of the PC? It is on and therefore is still ready to connect to a wireless network and I do not want that.

Hmm..I'm not sure what you're referring to here. Are you talking about the ambient light on the bottom that lights the keyboard? If so, there's a button on the left that turns it off. If you are referring to the blue light coming from the back of the PC towards the bottom, that could be the device that connects to your mouse and keyboard, which lights up when getting input. Not sure if you can disable the light from that. Are those lights what you are talking about, or is there another light I'm not noticing?

I have the IQ775 desk model - on the front there is a wifi blue light that is on - I'd like to turn that off.

The only way that I know of would be to go into Device Manager and then disabling the Wireless Network Adapter. Desktop computers typically don't have switches that turn off the wireless lan card.

I have the same computer but the opposite problem. My desktops Wireless LAN is not turned on. The front panel light is off and I do not know how to turn it back on. I recently installed Windows 7 on this computer and now I do not have wireless access to my router. My other computers are all on the router...that and the front panel light being off seem to point toward the computer being the problem. Does anyone know how to turn the Wireless LAN on??

anabasis100 said: I have had this problem twice now -- the most recent occurence being now. The switch at the front of my Touchsmart is 'off' (glowing orange) and I cannot turn it back on (glowing blue). I have tried to find the function key combination but to no avail and no matter how many times I push the switch under the light back and forth to turn it on, it stubbornly remains 'off' (glowing orange). This happened before and was cured by my daughter and some friend one evening when I was asleep and they hijacked my machine to do troll for something or the other. No one else has been able to do a damn thing! Any ideas?

You may want to post this in a new thread since this has absolutely  nothing to do with the thread you posted it in..
