I'm pretty happy with the touchsmart software but the input panel keeps annoying me. Every time I wanna search for music the input panel opens up even though I use the keyboard. Is there any way of preventing this from opening up automaticly. I dont wanna disable it completely though...
Right click on the taskbar and under toolbars (I think) is a choice to turn off the tablet input panel. (Im in Win7 so I'll have to go back to Vista to get the exact procedure) I'm pretty sure its the same for both though.

In Vista you don't get that choice :-(
But I'm pretty sure you can disable it in control panel though. My first choice is to have input panel available but not opening automaticly.
Anyone know if this will work:
Setting the DisableInPlace registry key to zero prevents the Input Panel user interface (UI) from appearing in an application. You must place the DisableInPlace registry key at HKLM\Software\Microsoft\TabletTip\. Then, add a new registry value by using the full path of the application in which you want to disable Input Panel. The following example registry entry disables Input Panel in an application called MyApp:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\TabletTIP\DisableInPlace]
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Hewlett-Packard\TouchSmart\Media\HPTouchSmartMusic.exe"="1"
the input pannal has a tools button then click options and set it up so it dosn't open. Mine never opens unless i click it. I have it set to ( float)
then in the options, under the open tab slecet tap the input icon to open.
