yep. i saw it too....anyone else?
After install, touching anything in the notes application results in a invalid token message that will not go away. only a restart will get rid of the message but reapears if you try to edit or create new note. bah humbug..
The reason for post was maybe we can see who else has the issue, and maybe a solution. "Mine works fine" belongs in another thread.

I'm on fire...Ya I guess i am..assuming that 99% of the installs should be working just fine. Mine works great really get us no where, It should be working fine.. Sorry to ruffle ur feathers, As i dont live for this forum, I thought i'd get some feedback from other broken installs and maybe a reply from an HP moderator. But I guess i get to have flaming posts emailed to me from some Self-designated master poster.
Any way Again the issue is the note app is broken by the update any others had this issue with the update starting a "Token is Invalid" message and is there a work around. Unistall and reinstall of the note update did not help. HP guy are you there? The machine is the older 504 with no tv and the t5707 proccesor.
We're all here to help one another but with an attitude like yours, I'd be A-M-A-Z-E-D if anyone was willing to help you now. Good luck in this forum and in your life.
If you are looking for a response from an HP tech support representative, I would contact HP tech support directly and describe your problem to them (http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/contact/chat_1.html) There are a few moderators here, but I don't know how authorized they are to assist you, nor how knowlegable (though I am pretty sure most are on the dev team?).
HP tech support will likely instruct you to remove the update or restore the Notes app to its factory state, and advise you to avoid the update until a new one is released. I am not having any problems with the Notes app, but I did have a similar issue with the Music/Photo/Video app, documented here (http://www.touchsmartcommunity.com/forum/thread/393/after-update-touchsmart-m... The solution tech support gave me was to undo the update and wait for another, which hasn't been released yet.
Hint for the future: you can catch more flies (help from other forum users) with honey (respect and patience) than vinegar (impatiently demanding for someone to solve your problem :)
Brett, let me see if I can forward the problem with the Invalid Token to someone who knows more about the Notes app than I do. I'm not aware of anyone else reporting the same issue.
It would be great if you could post a picture of the error dialog or send me a private message with more details, if there are any.
Can you check the log file, maybe it is an XPath error. Without looking I think the path is:
C:\Users\\AppData\Local\TouchSmartData\Log\TouchSmartNotesLog.txt
If not, just do a search for that log file.

Best i could do on the image, Seems that the only way out is to do a factory restore. Not the end Thanks Geektieguy I will do fine without notes they are handy tho I will just do a factory restore when i have time, I'll check Joe's sugestion.. (now my todo list is history so i can take sometime off..lol)
Thanks for your work!
I'm curious. It appears that the update has added the sync feature with Windows and Google (I don't think this was fully implemented with the previous version, just the email event notification).
Unfortunately, the sync doesn't seem to work for me. I've entered my Google info, even verified the email address (as required by the TS software) and hit sync only to have nothing show up on the TS Calendar.
So:
1) Is this simply 1 way syncing (TS to Google) so that if you were to enter something on the TS calendar it would sync to your google calendar but not the other way?
2) I have multiple calendars in Google. Maybe this doesn't work with that?
3) Or, is it just not fully developed?
This feature, I would argue is imperative to have in a computer/software such as this given that so many users now use Google features to manage their lives. There's no value in having to keep one calendar in TS or a separate calendar elsewhere, which is, as I imagine the developers understand, is the whole point of syncing cals cross platform/software/etc.
Any insight?
Thanks.
Josh B
All,
I am experiencing the same Invalid Token area in the notes application - very frusturating as this is a nice piece to be able to use - but I cannot as the error appears every time i try and open a note. I am trying to avoid doing a complete reinstall. I have reinstalled just the notes app, but to no avail. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I really like the touchsmart thus far, but it does appear to be a bit buggy at times (maybe its just good ol "special" Vista), but I have also had the touchsmart software not recognize any photos one day and then the next they are all there again. Is there any way I can just reinstall the touchsmart software - could that possibly fix it? Also, I am all current on the updates for the touchsmart software including the most recent notes update. Thanks - Chris

Thanks. Josh BGoogle Calendar has a Primary Calendar, which is usually titled "your screen name's Calendar", and then every other calendar is a secondary calendar. When you tell HP Touchsmart to sync with Google, it doesn't sync with the Primary Calendar--it creates a secondary calendar called "HP Touchsmart." If you make updates to this calendar, the sync should work--this is the only calendar HP Touchsmart will sync with.
The only way i got it to go away was to do a system restore, but other issues came up so i did a factory restore installed all of hp updates first all worked...(token Issue gone) then installed vista updates. Never heard a word from HP so i do not know what the cause was or a simple workaround. Obviosly they got a major bug somewhere but no ones telling.
Brett,
Thanks much for the reply. Agreed - very odd bug. Looks like I know what I'll be doing tonight - the special factory restore :). Just hope this does it and it doesn't rear its head again. I'll do it in the order you posted to make sure all goes well and eliminates the invalid token error. Thanks again. Chris
Maybe a couple of you can post your notes log file and see if the output is the same. You might be ablt to help the HP folks who visit these boards determine if it is an isolated bug or if this is happening in more than one scenario.
